Introduction

Model One
The 'Model One' by Trezor is a relatively cheap, general-purpose hardware wallet. With its free, open-source app 'Trezor Suite' this hardware wallet supports many different cryptocurrencies and NFTs out of the box, yet still lacks support for dozens of altcoins that its successor the Model T supports. The wallet has no touch screen and is operated with a two-button pad. The Model One runs on open-source firmware and therefore misses a so-called Secure Element chip for internal security due to its single-chip architecture, which results in rather low protection against hardware attacks.

The Model One by Trezor is a decent hardware wallet with sufficient functionality and build quality, yet it supports fewer coins and offers less security than competitor models in the same price range. Still, because the Model One runs on open-source firmware that offers high transparency for a very cheap price, it is a decent budget hardware wallet.

Trezor's Model T shines in the factor of ease of use, as almost anyone can operate the device without an issue because of its large touch display. Besides the large, colorful touch display, the 'Model T' by Trezor does not offer any more utility than cheaper competitor models and lacks important hardware security due to a missing Secure Element, which makes us believe that this model is rather overpriced and not recommended to the average crypto user.
